Projects
The Climate Change and Green Energy Project Office in Central Asia is actively working to accelerate the climate transition through the development of strategies, project coordination, and the attraction of international financial resources to the country and the region as a whole. Our activities focus on key initiatives aimed at sustainable development and supporting the low-carbon economy of the country and the region.
    • Just Transition Strategy
We have initiated the development of the Just Transition Strategy to ensure the fair distribution of economic and social benefits and costs associated with the transition to a low-carbon economy. This is a key initiative aimed at creating inclusive opportunities for all participants in economic processes in the context of climate change.

We would like to express our special gratitude to the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) company, one of the sponsors of the Just Transition Strategy development.
    • National Just Transition Platform
To support Just Transition projects, we intend to create a National Energy Transition Platform. It will serve as a hub for attracting green international investments and coordinating the actions of various stakeholders aimed at the sustainable development of Kazakhstan's economy.
    • Global Methane Pledge Secretariat
Our Project Office functions as the Secretariat for the Global Methane Pledge initiative. Its primary task is to coordinate and support projects aimed at reducing methane emissions. We are working on the implementation of best practices and the development of monitoring measures to help Kazakhstan achieve global methane reduction goals.
    • Partnership Coordination Platform
We are creating the Partnership Coordination Platform, which will serve as a one-stop window for coordinating the efforts of international financial organizations (IFOs) in combating climate change and adapting to its impacts in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The platform will be an important tool for streamlining interaction among international partners.
    • Regional Climate Summit
The Project Office is the organizer of the upcoming Regional Climate Summit. We are responsible for the conceptual content of the event, including the summit's architecture, the topics of panel sessions, and the necessary research. The summit's Secretariat will be led by the Government of Kazakhstan, ensuring strong engagement with key stakeholders.
