About us
The Climate Change and Green Energy Project Office under the Central Asian Climate Fund was established as part of an initiative announced by the President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Fund is a member of the Astana International Financial Centre and provides the necessary administrative and organisational functions for the effective operation of the Project Office.

The applicable law in the Fund's activities is recognized as the law of the AIFC and the national legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Our Objectives
Accelerating regional climate action
Supporting and implementing projects, programs, and initiatives to facilitate climate transition and action, promote best practices in green economy, and support the ecological transition and sustainable development in Central Asia.
Strengthening cooperation in climate policy
Supporting the development of regional climate policies and fostering collaboration among Central Asian countries to address shared climate challenges and opportunities.
Supporting climate policy development
Assisting in the development, promotion, and implementation of policies and regulations that promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience, in cooperation with stakeholders.
Fostering research and innovation
Encouraging and funding research and innovation in clean technologies, climate resilience, and the transition to a low-carbon economy, as well as sustainable agricultural practices to develop locally adapted solutions to the region's unique climate challenges.
Developing partnerships and collective action
Establishing partnerships with international financial institutions, civil society organisations, private sector entities, and research institutions to attract additional expertise, resources, and financing for climate action in Central Asia through the Fund.
Raising awareness and capacity building
Developing the capacity of stakeholders in the field of climate change, raising public awareness of climate change and environmental degradation issues, and promoting knowledge sharing to address these challenges in the region.
